John Officialmsc

Jean de Dieu Niyo — known on stage as John Officialmsc — is a gospel musician and minister from East Africa. Born on June 15, 2002, he grew up in Kigoma, Tanzania, where he developed a passion for music from a young age.

A professional guitarist, John uses his talent to spread the message of the gospel through his ministry and his social platforms. Nicknamed “The Black Young Man,” he is deeply passionate about inspiring people, and has collaborated with several brands and companies.

Personal life

John began playing guitar at the age of 12 and was raised in a Christian family. Asked what inspired him to pursue music, he said: “By believing in the purpose of God in my life and the talents He has blessed me with — such as playing instruments for His glory alongside other great artists in various places.”

His journey has not been without challenges. One of the hardest moments came when his house — including his studio — burnt down while he was at school. He has also had to face people impersonating him and using his brand name for their own businesses.

Achievements

John has reached significant milestones: he built a studio in Tanzania called J.M.C (John’s Music) and has worked with major artists. He manages an artist, Alice Mwamini, under his own label, launched a hair salon in the USA called “John_the_barbercut,” and works as a music teacher.

Education

John completed high school at Alhambra High School in 2020, focusing more on his music ministry while attending college. Balancing his studies with building his brand — while learning new skills across R&B, jazz, blues, and Congolese styles — was a challenge he met by staying focused and refusing to give up.

To aspiring musicians, his advice is simple: stay focused on your goals, release your own music, and never give up — no matter how difficult the journey seems.
